Our new house, from the side, almost complete (July 2005) The front of the house, before the railing was put up. Yes, the big wall down the center of the house is *still* purple. It's a long hallway that takes advantage of the passive solar design. The breakfast nook for morning sunshine. Clarke's "Great Green Room." Dining room with a great blue wall. Another angle showing how the colors look beside one another. Karl's office. Now a far better blue. Our orange (fire mountain) kitchen Black Morgan granite countertops in the kitchen. Our shower (before it was encased in glass). A guest room in "Pear" green. A small part of our very long driveway. The house is surrounded with wild rasberries that were in full bloom in July. As always, we had a garden full of tomatoes and other fabulous produce. The primer for the fun-colored house. Rooms off the big hall are orange and blue. In all, we have 12 different colors, giving the house a circus-tent feel. Marcia's office is a warm brown, and the room is beside the orange bump out/booth area in the kitchen. We have incredible views out the kitchen booth area. Clarke's room is very green. The primer is a bit lighter than the color of the paint. The room will eventually have a tree-house theme. The master bedroom being painted, sort of a warm brown. Another view of the master bedroom (and the great Hickory floor). The actual color will be a bit darker. Karl's office is bright blue. The real color will be darker. The primer is more electric blue. The guest room in the basement is, yes, a pear green. The laundry room is a dark sage green. The powder room is chili pepper red. The guest bedroom upstairs is very warm yellow. Sort of apricot-like. The guest bath/Clarke's bath is periwinkle blue. The masterbedroom at the dry-wall stage. The kitchen bump out/booth area in dry-wall. The front entrance area before the closet is drywalled in. Where the wood stove will set in the family room. The kitchen and booth area. Marcia's office again. This wall will be covered in bookshelves. Karl working on the wood stove piping. Karl and Clarke checking out the booth area. Karl finishing up insulating the walls. Insulation in the vaulted ceiling. The entire backyard is setting on limestone. Front view of the new house.

Light is above us, and color around us;
but if we have not light and color in our eyes,
we shall not perceive them
outside us.
